  1. 1

Take a free full mock test

All four sections in one sitting, under test conditions, in about 1½ hours. Your first one is free.

  2. 2

    Find where you lose points

A band for each section and overall, every question explained, and your mistakes grouped by question type.

  3. 3

    Train your weak spots

Practice one section at a time, retake sets for free, and track your bands against your goal until you reach it.

Practice that works like test day

Feels like the real test

Every screen, timer, and module follows the new test format. Listening and Speaking use natural AI voices with a range of English accents, as on test day.

Your score in minutes

Minutes after you finish, every section is scored on the 1–6 band scale with its CEFR level, and every question is explained.

Know exactly what to fix

Your mistakes are grouped by question type, so you can see your weak spots and practice the tasks that will raise your score fastest.

See every screen before test day

Every task of the new TOEFL iBT® test format, on screens that look and work like the real thing.

The Reading test screen

Two adaptive modules, like the real test

  • Complete the Words, Read in Daily Life, and Read an Academic Passage
  • How you do in module 1 decides whether module 2 is easier or harder
  • Move back and forth within a module, with the official timing

Tested by PhD students at top U.S. universities

Graduate students at top U.S. universities used it through the beta, on their way to their own programs.

  • Band 5.0+ in Speaking was a strict TA funding requirement for my target programs. The instant, rubric-grounded feedback on my recordings pinpointed my pacing issues far better than generic prep materials. My Speaking band jumped from 4.0 to 5.0 in three weeks, securing my full funding package at MIT.
    M. K.PhD candidate, EECS · MIT
  • The timed, four-section full simulations gave me the stamina I needed for test day. Preparing alongside intensive lab work and SOP drafting felt overwhelming. I pushed my overall band from 4.5 to a solid 5.5, removing language scores as a barrier to my Harvard admission.
    S. J.PhD student, Biological Sciences · Harvard
  • The AI Writing feedback is extraordinarily thorough. Rather than simply correcting grammar, it evaluated logical coherence, transitions, and academic vocabulary. My Writing band went from 4.5 to 5.5, which played a decisive role in my application.
    D. H.MS, Computer Science · Stanford
  • The diagnostics found exactly where I leaked points under time pressure. I plateaued at Band 4.5 for months because of Reading pace and Listening distractors. After targeted practice on those question types, I hit an overall 5.5 on the real exam and joined Yale DBMI.
    J. L.PhD student, Biomedical Engineering · Yale
  • Zero friction on test day. The timing and section transition screens felt just like the real test. My overall Band 5.5 on the first attempt comfortably cleared the bar for every program on my list.
    C. Y.PhD candidate, Biomedical Informatics · Columbia
  • The Academic Discussion task stopped feeling unpredictable. Practicing many prompts with instant scoring helped me build a strong structure. I secured an overall Band 5.5, with 5.5 in Writing.
    E. P.PhD student, Chemistry · Princeton
  • The variety of accents made test day feel manageable. I stopped worrying about missing fast transitions between speakers, and ended up with a clean Band 6.0 in Listening.
    S. K.PhD candidate, Mechanical Engineering · UC Berkeley
  • Short section practice fit around my conference deadlines. I practiced Speaking and Writing in 30-minute blocks while retaking the TOEFL, and raised my Speaking band from 4.0 to 5.0, clearing my department's threshold for teaching appointments.
    J. T.PhD student, CSE · University of Washington
  • Finally, explanations of why an answer is wrong. The breakdown of the wrong options in Reading changed how I approach inference questions. I jumped from Band 4.5 to 5.5 in Reading.
    H. C.MS, Information Science · Cornell
  • High-precision scoring saved me hundreds of dollars on private tutoring. The feedback highlighted my repetitive sentence patterns and weak arguments. I secured an overall Band 5.5 on my final attempt.
    A. M.PhD candidate, Neuroscience · Johns Hopkins

Questions

Is this the official TOEFL iBT® test?

No. MockPrep is an independent practice platform. It follows the format of the test introduced in January 2026, but it isn't made, endorsed, or approved by ETS, and its scores are estimates for practice.

How close is it to the real test?

Every task type, time limit, and screen follows the new format: adaptive Reading and Listening modules, Build a Sentence, Write an Email, Academic Discussion, Listen and Repeat, and Take an Interview. Scores use the same 1–6 band scale with CEFR levels.

How is my score worked out?

Reading and Listening are scored automatically, with the adaptive module counted the way the real test weighs it. Writing and Speaking are scored by AI against detailed rubrics, and spoken answers are transcribed and measured for pauses and pace. You get a band for each section and an explanation for every question.

What is a credit?

One credit starts one section test. A full mock test is 4 credits, one for each section. Your first full mock test is free when you sign up.

What's the difference between test conditions and practice mode?

Under test conditions the clock never stops, as on test day: if you leave, it keeps running. In practice mode you can pause at any time, and the clock also stops while you're away from the test page.

What is a full mock test?

All four sections in one sitting, in the order of the real test: Reading, Listening, Writing, then Speaking. It takes about 1½ hours and gives you a band for each section and an overall band. Full mock tests have their own questions, separate from section practice, and your first one is free.

Why I built this

I built these mock tests for myself while preparing for the new TOEFL iBT test, and they took my score from 90 to 110 in a short time. Friends heading to graduate school started using them too. Now they're a full practice platform, so you can study the same way.
